From a casual meet at a common friend’s to a lifetime of togetherness, Sakshi and Jay have come a long way. What started as a friendly handshake, became an inseparable bond of love. They tied the knot at one of the finest places in Mumbai, The Four Seasons in a subtle yet gracious setting.
Sakshi impressed us with her customized Mehendi depicting the couple’s love for food, cricket, and semi-permanent tattoos. Her bridal lehenga with customized tassels oozing their names certainly took the personalization quotient to a wholly new level. Although, it was her eccentric and contagious smile that caught our hearts.
Bon Evento left no stone unturned to bring in the essence of this couple’s uniqueness to the decor, from the glittery balloon to the offbeat yellow wedding decor, they made sure that the venue highlighted this couple’s heartiest desires.
They met through a mutual friend and from there itself they knew they had to see each other again. Sakshi was meeting this friend who had recently got engaged to know all about his story. At the same time, Jay called that friend and Sakshi picked up the call and invited him to pull this friend’s leg together as he didn’t invite both of them to his wedding. It wasn’t exactly love at first sight, but there was undeniable chemistry. It was like fate deciding for them.
The bride’s cheek went crazy red while sharing her proposal story. It was no less than a dream come true. They both were in Alibaug for their pre-wedding shoot and Jay had planned this surprise with some close friends at the terrace. Once they returned, Jay insisted that they go to the terrace to catch the musty evening breeze and moonlight. And as she swayed her way upstairs, she was astounded to find the whole terrace illuminated with fairy lights, a champagne bottle waiting to pop and before she could react, Jay was on his knees and she was awestruck, she exclaimed.
The event took place at the Bride’s residence and the house was adorned with flowers, birds and the cherry on the cake were miniature dolls symbolizing the couple in frame. The whole house seemed to have absorbed the yellow and green hues from its core. As per the Marwari customs, all the married ladies acquainted the new bride-to-be with her daily responsibilities at her new home.
As joyous as the pictures depict Sakshi’s Haldi was filled with love, affection, Haldi paste, and flower petals. She was all soaked with the glow of water, sunlight, and family affection.
Their mehndi function incorporated everything the couple fancied from cricket, coke, and fries to a tattoo artist who drew a semi-permanent design depicting their wedding logo integrated with the mehndi and stood out with its black color. All the boys in the family got ‘JAYHO’ painted on their palms, so when everyone did the namaste to welcome the guests, they would see the wedding hashtag.
The Bhaat Ceremony started earlier that day and it was commenced by the bride’s maternal side. The decor was so elegant, the vibrant blue, lilac, and magenta elements were bringing in a playful vibe and complimenting the pastel backdrop. We really like how the rustic elements like those crates, teapots, and ladders were incorporated in the setting, they aptly added a boho look to the event.
Sakshi’s ancestral dusty pink lehenga intricated with silver work passed on by her grandmother made her look no less than a princess. Her girl squad welcoming her with silver balloons made her eyes watery with happy tears.
Sakshi looked pretty in her mustard Anarkali and contrasting Rani-coloured dupatta. The millennial bride accentuated her curves by rocking a belt to complete the look. On the other hand, Jay opted for a blue Kurta Pajama and topped his look with a dark blue jacket. Both Sakshi and Jay wooed us with their simplicity and chemistry that sparked the ambiance of the entire venue.
The Sangeet gala decorated with their wedding hashtag #inkeJAYSAkoinahi enticed the guests near the entranceway to take their cameras out and click pictures. After a stunning entrance where the couple entered with a flash mob and enthralling dance performances by their families on famous hit tracks, the couple exchanged rings and celebrated the evening by cutting a chandelier-designed cake.
Their wedding was a vibrant affair, as it observed a rich yellow color palette owing to Jay’s love for pineapples and Sakshi’s fondness for potatoes. It was adorned with fresh pineapples and placards displaying funny anecdotes for their tabletops. With a live potato corner serving fries, mashed potatoes, wedges, potato shots, the guests eagerly made their way to the stall.
However, the highlight was the split personality photo-booth which expressed Sakshi’s persona with Bollywood elements on one side and Jay’s persona with Lord Shiva’s psychedelic musical elements on the other, creating a fun twist. As soon as the couple exchanged their varmalas, the Gayatri Mantra was played while the bubble machines blew bubbles into the air.
Sakshi donned an intricately embroidered lehenga with multi-hued motifs with double dupatta which lent an exquisite traditional charm to her look. The tassels on her lehenga were personalized and had their wedding date, names they call each other. Her groom slew the occasion with a white Sherwani. The couple looked ethereal in their colour coordinated outfits.
